Ozark National Scenic Riverways is the first national park area to protect a river system. The Current and Jacks Fork rivers are two of the finest floating rivers you’ll find anywhere. Spring-fed, cold and clear they are a delight to canoe, swim, boat or fish. Besides these two famous rivers, the park is home to hundreds of freshwater springs, caves, trails and historic sites such as Alley Mill.
Harvey’s Alley Spring is an authorized concessioner of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, National Park Service, Department of Interior.
We are authorized within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways to provide canoe, kayak, raft, and tube rentals and shuttle service.
About The Owners
Shane and Kim Van Steenis
Harvey’s Canoe Rental was established at Alley Spring in 1963 by Harvey and Edna Staples. After Harvey’s death, his son Danny and wife Barb took over the operation. Current owner, Shane Van Steenis, began working for Danny and Barb at 16 years old and took over the business in 1999 with his wife, Kim, and daughter Taylor. Through our exceptionally friendly and knowledgable service, we have outfitted floats for numerous families for generations.
